Lao Foundation inked three Memorandum of Agreements with 2 current partner-foundations (Don Bosco PUGAD Foundation, and Purple Centers Foundation formerly Philippine Christian Foundation), and 1 newly approved partner-institution (Don Bosco Youth Center Tondo) last August 1, 2016.
Under the LFI-Don Bosco PUGAD Techvoc Educational Assistance Project, LFI shall provide for 12 migrant youths who will be taking up techvoc courses and shall provide for the 2 years college education of 8 migrant youths who are already taking up BS Agriculture course.
Under the LFI-Purple Centers Foundations Teachers’ Salary Project, LFI committed to support part of the salaries of teachers so that PCF shall be able to provide quality education to children who are living in the dumpsites, and cemeteries that the center caters to.
Under the LFI-Don Bosco Youth Center Tondo Techvoc Scholarship Project, LFI shall provide for the techvoc education of 20 financially challenged out of school youths in Tondo and nearby area.
Don Bosco Youth Center Tondo, the new partner of LFI, is a non-stock, non-government, non-profit, religious and educational institution that is being managed by Salesians priests of Don Bosco (SDB). Established in 1971, it aims to give the abandoned and marginalized youth of Tondo and other poor areas in the country the opportunity to undergo 15-month Industrial Skills Training, TESDA (Technical Education and Skills Authority) accredited programs in order for them to be gainfully employed and to uplift their economic and social situation.
In supporting these educational institutions, LFI is fulfilling its mission in making its partners succeed in their mission.
