Lao Foundation (LFI) marked another milestone in expanding its Educational Assistance / Sponsorship Program with twenty (20) new techvoc scholars in partnership with Dualtech Training Center Foundation Inc. (Dualtech)
Dualtech Training Center Foundation Inc. president Arnolfo Morfe, signed the memorandum of agreement for LFI-Dualtech TechVoc Educational Assistance Project in simple ceremonies at the D&L Polymers & Colours (DLPC) plant in Carmelray Industrial Park-1, Canlubang Laguna last 06 August 2015.
Among the attendees were the 20 new techvoc scholars named “Batch 2015-2017 Honesty & Integrity”, officials of Dualtech, and personnel of DLPC. These LFI-Dualtech techvoc scholars of indigent families from Abra, Ilocos and Palawan will be provided with financial assistance for their tuition and subsistence during the course of their 2-year Electromechanics Technology course.
Dualtech is a technical institution committed to contribute to the common good by developing people to become quality trained, skilled, productive, enlightened and morally upright persons in order to fulfill the needs of industries and communities.
It was established in 1982 to provide skills education and values formation to the youth thereby addressing the problem of poverty. Dualtech provides initial education for 6 months with weekly mentoring sessions. Partner companies host the students for the in-plant training for the next 18 months. Most students are hired by the same company that sponsors them. It has produced over 10,000 techvoc graduates, and some, without even attaining a college degree, became general managers of local and foreign owned companies in the Philippines.
The MOA signing was made possible with the support of D&L Polymers and Colours, LFI’s donor company. DLPC’s plant manager Engr. Gil Ang led in touring Batch 2015-2017 Honesty & Integrity around the plant.
