Charity First Foundation, Inc. (CFFI) is composed of individuals with sincere intentions in being a catalyst for change in the lives of people and the society. This entails helping the Filipino poor while at the same time providing a venue for others who are willing to help and eventually be influenced to do good deeds.
For SY 2015-2016, Lao Foundation, Inc. (LFI) is pleased to welcome fifteen (15) new scholars under the LFI-CFFI College Scholarship Project. The scholars now enrolled at Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), and the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) are taking up BS Accountancy, BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Civil Engineering and BS Computer Engineering courses. This new batch of 15 scholars is in addition to the 35 current scholars under the same project.
Aside from the financial assistance for their tuition fees, books, transportation, meals, and project allowances, the scholars are required to attend the once a month Life Skills and Motivational Seminars (LSMS). This monthly LSMS provides a holistic approach to learning and personal development. They are also given mentoring and counseling services to ensure that the scholar’s needs and concerns are adequately met. These sessions prepare the scholars who would transition from the academe unto the marketplace of life and help ensure that they will be competitive, competent and confident.
This is a fact that D&L can attest to as two of its former scholars are now with the group of companies and both are commended for their good performance and competence. Janine Tumara a BSBA Finance & Treasury Management graduate of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) last March 2015 is now with LBL Prime Properties as documentation and liaison staff. Princess Guia a BS Marketing Management graduate last year is with Oleo-Fats, Inc. as marketing sales assistance.
Consistent to its mission to provide quality education and values formation to the underprivileged Filipino children through a variety of programs and projects, Lao Foundation further strengthens this commitment in partnership with Charity First Foundation.
Indeed, a brighter future is in store for these scholars!
We also congratulate the following scholars under batch 2015 graduates in reaching this milestone of employment with different companies.
